Course Description
During this course students examine the process of conceptualizing and designing information which will emphasize in visual problem solving. Students will process, design, present and implement message-making through words/ text, charts, symbols, maps, pages, signs and computer screens/interfaces. Students will learn to translate data into clear, visually compelling solutions.
Course Objectives
- Understand the effective use of text, images, color, and motion to convey an idea
- Understand the role of information in the modern economy
- Demonstrate clear usage of data through visual problem solving
- Demonstrate the ability to create a multimedia project containing the principles of information design
- Demonstrate the ability to explain elements of information design within a project
