Course Description

During this course students examine the process of conceptualizing and designing information which will emphasize in visual problem solving. Students will process, design, present and implement message-making through words/ text, charts, symbols, maps, pages, signs and computer screens/interfaces. Students will learn to translate data into clear, visually compelling solutions.

Course Objectives

  1. Understand the effective use of text, images, color, and motion to convey an idea
  2. Understand the role of information in the modern economy
  3. Demonstrate clear usage of data through visual problem solving
  4. Demonstrate the ability to create a multimedia project containing the principles of information design
  5. Demonstrate the ability to explain elements of information design within a project
